It is official now. Robert Pattinson will play Batman in Matt Reeves’, “The Batman.” The 33 years old actor will portray the young version of the caped crusader.
The Batman is written and directed by Matt Reeves, who has previously directed films like Dawn of the Planet of Apes and its sequel War of the Planet of Apes.
Previously, Ben Affleck was going to play, write and direct The Batman movie, but later, he left the script. The new Batman movie will show a noir version of the greatest DC superhero.
The Twilight star landed the role after Nicholas Hoult was out of talks.
In an interview with Variety, Robert Pattinson said:
“I’d had Batman in my mind for a while. It’s such an absurd thing to say. I sort of had an idea to do it, and I’d been prodding Matt. He didn’t accept any prods. I kept asking to meet him.”
While talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Matt Reeves explained his version of the Batman saying,
“It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films.”
The Batman is all set to release on 25th June 2021, and the movie’s preproduction will start this summer.
